1 NetTM Connectivity Server Unit version 2 (CSU v2)

The Connectivity Server Unit version (CSU v2) serves as the cornerstone for an aircraft information system for the future, providing the processing, memory and connectivity to meet the requirements of the most demanding applications. It is a technology refresh of the existing CSU with embedded Iridium and two embedded cellular modules. The CSUv2 is ready to be your aircraft data management and upload solution, including real-time tracking, maintenance, health monitoring, cabin services and more. The CSUv2 brings aircraft data into the 21st century, opening the door to cloud computing and big data for your fleet.

The CSUv2 has the processing, memory and I/O capabilities to enable a single part number to support all types of aircraft. The server has 2 QUAD core processors each with 1,000 gigabytes of storage to allow real time processing and distribution of any ARINC, Discrete, or other type of data to be sent over an Iridium, wireless access point or LTE cellular network.

Core System

The unit includes an accelerometer, multi-mode Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), power monitor, temperature, real time clock (RTC), and an internal 5 minute power hold up to allow continued infight telemetry data during a complete aircraft power failure. The Long-Term Evolution (LTE) cellular functon includes (2) radios that are programmed based on country setting to provide LTE services in North America or the rest of the world. The radios are able to auto select lower band width channels if LTE service is not available, such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA+. In conjunction with the CSUv2, Thompson Aerospace offers Cloud services to process the aircraft data on a fleet basis, including trend analysis, analytics, real-time monitoring, etc.
