Orbis enhances its aircraft tracking capabilities with 1NetTM Secure Aircraft Tracking Module (SATM)
Orbis, the New York-based Flying Eye Hospital is enhancing its flight tracking capabilities with Thompson's SATM. Our SATM provides Orbis unique capabilities with unparalleled data security meeting all International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) aircraft tracking recommendations, allowing them to follow the aircraft throughout the world in real time. Because of the remote locations and high value of Orbis' mobile eye hospital, the SATM monitors ground activity like door openings providing them extra security and information.
To bolster security, the SATM uses Federal Information Publication Standard (FIPS) 140-2, a U.S. government security standard for data validity and security. Thompson's SATM has ARINC 717 Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and built-in mini Quick Access Recorder (QAR) capability, as well as an Iridium S8M transceiver with 10-hour internal standby.
